[Gnu-arch-users] SourceForge-like repositories in an arch-centric world

Today there is an announcement on advogato.org about
gna.org, another sourceForge/savannah like Free
Software development site, located in France, hosting
CVS repositories and some other services for Free
Software projects. The main purposes of these sites,
of course, are their service as the central source
repositories in CVS. Then there is the issue of which
site to use for a Free Software project depending on
CVS.

When GNU Arch takes over the world, what will be the
purposes of such sites? The idea of a "central
repository" will have no meaning in Arch environments.

However, Arch may allow these sites to have new
meaning of existences. Arch allows these sites to
work together, mirroring each other and distributing
the load (of "anonymous checkouts" in today's CVS
world), increasing reliability so the Free Software
development infrastructure has no single point of
failure. savannah and gna.org can together form a
cluster of common source repositories instead of
possibly competing with each other for hosting Free
Software projects. This seems very desirable. Maybe
this can be a good point for both savannah and gna.org
to support Arch as an integrated part of their infrastructure?
