[gnugo-devel] Crash in latest CVS

My robot on KGS has gone down a few times in the past couple days and I
thought it was it's a new bug... I tried running a SGF file that was a game
in progress at one of the crashes though it and it does indeed fail, however,
3.4 and 3.5.5 also crash. It looks like it was on move 84 when it crashed
originally while connected to the server (you can see it spewing comments in
the game record as it tries to restart). It looks like my scripts tried to
restart it for a while, and it made a few more moves but kept crashing,
eventually refusing to restart entirely (actually due to an apparent bug in
the KGSgtp client's handling of free handicap stones).

Here's the output I get when I try to replay the .sgf file in question:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
address@hidden:phong/gnugo_cvs $ gnugo-cvs --quiet -l
games/kgs/2004-04-26-Dumb-GnuGoCVS.sgf

***assertion failure:
board.c:800 - board[pos] == EMPTY near D16***

[ empty ascii board deleted ]

gnugo 3.5.6 (seed 1083036183): You stepped on a bug.
Please save this game as an sgf file and mail it to address@hidden
If you can, please also include the debug output above this message.

Aborted
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it just that it doesn't like the SGF file with the free-handicap stones, or
something else?

Oh, and Dumb is the username of the person playing the robot - not a
commentary on gnugo. :-)
