In reply to your question re generic specific  with drugs with more than one 
active component, there are two consective records recorded to the database:

id  consult_id  class description         classcode     brand    generic   
reaction:            

1 1006  sulfonamide anti-infectives     194     Septrin Sulfamethoxazole        
urticaria
2 1006  trimethoprim    207     Septrin Trimethoprim    urticaria

the consult ID is a link to the consults table which contains the 
date/patient_id/ etc
