Add only works in a CVS workspace. You have to do a checkout first. If
you're trying to add a new (toplevel) module, you probably wanted to do:
cvs co -l .
cvs add knock_server
cvs ci
The manual claims you should use import. I suppose it's a matter of
personal preferance and the details of the situation:
