To be a bit more specefic than Graham, I'd suggest you try putting

\property Voice.Slur \override #'height-limit = #'6

(or another number slightly smaller that 6, maybe 4 or so) before where
you want higher slurs and to get back you to the default (or course)
use:

\property Voice.Slur \revert #'height-limit

The same applies to phrasing slurs, just replace "Slur" with
"PhrasingSlur" in the above code.
