How debug font prob with a2ps/Ghostscript?! :(

I got some Postscript output from a2ps but when
I tried to view it with Ghostscript I got a ton of
messages about not being able to find and/or access
fonts.  Any help debugging this would be greatly
appreciated.         

I have seen font error messages from time to time
trying to view Postscript with Ghostscript
and never understood how to fix this problem.
  
I was able to see the fonts mentioned in the
error messages.
Very strange.

I have GNU a2ps 4.12 and GNU Ghostscript 5.50.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
