Here is a new Windows binary that should hopefully bring HW acceleration
or, at least, give us some information:

http://www.gnurou.org/adonthell-stuff/wintest.zip

It only contains the binary - just unpack it in replacement for your
previous adonthell.exe. The datas doesn't need any update.

When launched, this binary sets fullscreen at the right time - that is,
while setting the video mode. Of course, it will only set it if
adonthell.ini is told so. Right after that, it will display some
information about the video mode into stdout.txt. What is important to
know is that there are two video targets available for Windows: windib
and directx. The latter is accelerated, the first one isn't. The used
target is printed as the first line of stdout.txt. It SHOULD be directx.
If fullscreen is set, some hardware acceleration should be available. In
case it is not using the directx target, you can force it doing so by
opening a DOS shell, typing 'set SDL_VIDEODRIVER=directx' and launching
'adonthell wastesedge' in the same shell.

Please do as many different tests as possible, and send the reports.
Also tell if you feel like it's accelerated! :)

Ah, the 32bpp bug isn't fixed yet - coming soon, don't worry! :)

Alex.
