Yeah, good idea. I wasn't sure whether -P works for checkout as well. I
usually did an update -P after the initial checkout ;). It's much more
convenient that way, though. Thanks!

That would be the better alternative (as nothing in the map directory
will ever be needed anymore), but as we have no direct control over the
CVS repository, we would have to file a support request on Savannah. And
I personally wouldn't want to bother the guys there unless it is really
necessary.

I guess the CVS tree needs some cleanup sooner or later, and then would
be a good opportunity to get rid of the map directory as well.
