Apparently by July, the zero-cost version of BitKeeper will no longer be
available. The kernel will have to switch to something else (or revert
to not using version control) by then. I suppose one option might be
that Linus could switch to a commercial BK, but that option certainly
wouldn't be available to many/most kernel hackers.

The article claims that monotone and darcs have already been rejected
due to speed concerns. GNU arch has to be the front runner, but now
would be the time for ArX to step up as a candidate, if indeed it is
ready to take on that challenge.
