I am trying to work out a working policy for packages.
TeX-auto-generate-global does not appear to work either with
a) the kpathsea way of finding the source trees
b) a shared Emacs/XEmacs directory for the results, since the
resulting files are byte-compiled unconditionally.
Does anybody have some idea how we should deal with this in order to
get a reasonable setup by default?
The current autoconf-based suggestions don't appear to deal to well
with that.
