I'm sending two patches to the macro. The first is only a bug fix; it ensures
LIBS are properly saved&restored and fixes a message typo. 
The second, to be applied on top of the first, implements an extra check that
attempts to verify that the integer size of Fortran (4 or 8 bytes) matches
that of BLAS. 
It's up to you to decide whether it should be there; we are now using it in
Octave because we found out that this kind of misconfiguration is quite common
(e.g. BLAS is compiled with -fdefault-integer-8 but Fortran doesn't use it).
