Right.
Many configure.in's struggle with AC_TRY_CPP and may rely on wrong
assumptions.
But I guess we have already invalidated many assumptions, so we should go
ahead.
This needs to be done before 2.50 and this change needs to be tested as
much as possible. So it's better to apply it right now.
