It's a good idea. Automake macros should be tested as well.

I think it's a step in the right direction. I believe that some day
Autoconf, Automake and Libtool will be parts of one package, GNU build
system. We need a framework to test the whole build system.

It's "foreign" now, but it will not be foreign in the future.

The existing Automake suite doesn't test the macros that come with
Automake. Autoconf testsuite is better suited to test them.
