no, my patch needs testing, so it cannot be committed now.

My personal preference is to put the documenting of this feature off,
too. We are very close to a release, and I'm not sure whether we
want to commit to this interface. Maybe I'm just overcautions.

Is the AU_ALIAS always safe? What if a project contains
AC_COMPUTE_INT in its aclocal.m4?

Maybe the above concerns are silly, but my overall mood is that there
is always a possibility that a mistake creeps in, and this issue is
not critical. Let's put it off, and let's make 2.61 in a few months,
dumping all the things which patiently sit in he waiting room.

As with investment funds: previous resuts are no guarantee for
future. It is possible the the next release will be more quick!

I underrstand that Ralf has concerns about m4-2.0 (and wants the
chocolate), but I would be happy if even this was postponed and 2.60
were released right now.

Paolo, please forgive me if this sounds too grumpy. I apprecate all
your work.

Have a nice day,
        Stepan
