At one point, it seems like autoconf was designed to make the resulting
configure script somewhat easy to read in spite of being a generated file,
and where possible, I still like to output enough of a shell comment to
try and keep that property for interesting output tricks.  But in this
case, a one-line blurb about sed syntax is probably sufficient, and
silencing nine more lines of comment about how we got to such a complex
sed pairing to just the m4 side of things is reasonable.  So please apply.
