It says:-

make: `autom4te' is up to date.


Could problem might be related to a bug in Make or possibly something 
involving the OS/2 command processor?

I saw a mention of NULLCMD in the on-line docs. Should I try setting this 
explicitly to 'cat' or somesuch?
