the problem is fixed, thank you!
it is, however, terribly slow. on my slab (25MHz 68040) it's taking
about 2 minutes to get to the point of sourcing the modified file. at
7 minutes from start, it reaches that same point again, and it's not
until 33 (!) minutes after invoking configure that the first output is
displayed ... (checking for a BSD-compatible install).
would it be reasonable to display some output during the initial steps
indicating that the script is working as expected?
