This is an authoritative answer from the maintainer f mingw-2.0.0-3 and 
MSYS-1.0.8.  The combination you've set forth does not work.  I provide 
for that reason a prebuilt autotools in a msysDTK package.  If you wish 
to discuss this further, please take it to the address@hidden list.
