I don't think we should expect any conflicts.  We should encouradge
wide usage of AS_IF instead of plain shell `if'.  The only drawback
is that it is less readable to most people than the plain shell `if'.

I'll post a separate status report on the "AC_REQUIRE problems"
thread.
