arlib is already taken by some package of that name; let's go with
ar-lib which seems unused, judging from codesearch, fairly close to
the original suggestion, and hyphens are sort of GNU-ish anyway.  ;-)

That is, unless you dislike it.

I suggested arwrap, like ylwrap, but that message seems stuck somewhere...

And I noted that I found no instance of 'archive' in any directory holding
other automake auxiliary files, but lot of other 'archive' files was
found on codesearch of course.

ar-lib is also fine by me.
