[FYI] new public branch "testsuite-work"

Hello automakers.

I've created a new public branch "testsuite-work", where to push testsuite
extensions and refactorings that I deem will be useful in the long run, but
that, if applied to the master branch, might destabilize it too much for
the moment being.  It should be possible (and advisable) to merge the master
branch into this new testsuite-work branch at any moment.

I'll soon(ish) start pushing some patches to the new branch.
