[Dropping automake from CC:]

Hello automakers.

The previous version of these patches was using a very suboptimal terminology,
confusely speaking about "test wrapper scripts", a term which is unclear at
best, and misleading at worst.

Luckily, in the meantime, I've managed to come up with a new term/concept,
"custom test drivers", which is IMO much more clear and precise. I've thus
updated the patches to reflect this new terminlogy, both in comments and in
Makefile variables (e.g., using `$(LOG_DRIVER)' instead of `$(LOG_WRAPPER)').

The whole testsuite passes after the two updated patches are applied.

Since I was at it, I've also added some *very preliminary* documentation;
it is very sketchy, incomplete, and still lacks any Texinfo formatting, but
it should be enough to at least clarify the purposes and general design
guidelines of the new feature.

I'll soon post the updated patches in distinct answers to this mail, to
make review and discussion easier.

Regards,
  Stefano
