Thanks.  I've fixed a similar issue in the past few days for Mac OS X (see
automake bug#11898); could you give a try to all the self check in current
maint (better if from a fresh clone), and see which are still failing?  If
there is any, feel free to open a new bug report (so we can keep proper
track of the issue).
