        * depend2.am (@address@hidden): Define it when GENERIC so
        that it does not get noticed twice by automake, which now
        complains for multiple definitions.
        * tests/vartar.test: s/INSTALL/install/g, automake now complains
        because we defined INSTALL.

I have strengthened the write permissions over the variables (well,
more accurately the existing rules are now applied to all the
variables thanks to macro_define, other cases were bugs IMHO, do to
too many specials cases).  Therefore some things which were allowed
before must be fixed.
