Re: using AM_CXXFLAGS

I put the wrong Makefile.am snippet  in my previous email.
Lines  like
    AM_CXXFLAGS = -DLINUX  @AM_CXXFLAGS@
should read
    AM_CXXFLAGS = -DLINUX $(AM_CXXFLAGS)

I still get  a similar error message.
