[Axiom-developer] Bourbaki

Hi,

just for amusement, from the history of math web-page at St-Andrews:
"Henri Cartan, Andre Weil, Jean Dieudonne, Claude Chevalley, and
Alexander Grothendieck wrote collectively under the name of Bourbaki and
Bourbaki's Elements de mathematique contains more than 30 volumes."

If you look at Christophe Reutenauers web-page you will even see a
'picture' of Bourbaki
http://www.lacim.uqam.ca/~christo/Bourbaki.html

As far as I know, it was firstly N.N. Bourbaki and later Nicolas N.
Bourbaki.

You may note, that 'Boubakism' was coined to reject a formal 'abstract
nonsense' approch to mathematics, categories were in its infancy then. A
strongly typed system as AXIOM has lots of 'boubakism' spirit. In this
sense it has some tone to write pamphlet (also with conotation?) files
under this name. There was a Bourbaki driven attempt in the 70ies to put
set theoretic based mathematics to schools, which failed ... however.

cheers
BF.
