Juergen,

My answer would be "yes, in principle".

TeXmacs is quite sophisticatd in the way it displays
mathematics and it has a fairly good facility to import
LaTeX files but it's internal file format is not based
on LaTeX. We would have to convert the existing files
to TeXmacs format and fix the links etc.

With the ability of TeXmacs to actually execute Axiom
commands and to serve as a "worksheet" interface to
Axiom, I think it would be a natural thing to have it
do the hypertex browsing as well.

I would be willing to try to convert some of the
existing files to TeXmacs format as an experiment.
Where can I get the files?

Cheers,
Bill Page.
