In the log I see:

: configure:7521: checking for XpmReadFileToImage in -lXpm
: configure:7551: gcc -o conftest -g -O2   conftest.c -lXpm  -lX11  >&5
: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXpm
: collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
: configure:7557: $? = 1

which means that configure can not find libXpm.  If you really have
libXpm can you tell us where it lives?
