Details:

With the check box checked that each verse will start with a new line, one
would not expect extra spaces and line breaks to be added around numbers.
In-line numbers should not be interpreted as verse numbers or needing any
extra spaces. I show reordering with original verse numbers in parentheses.
The second paragraph of this text is verse 4, but I only want a \p in front of
it.

4-5 (5) While I am still in this world, I am the light of the world.
(4) So now, while it is still day, we must use all the opportunities which
are given by {my/the} Father who sent Me. Because the time of darkness will
come, when no one is able to work.”

I would like the result to be this:
\v 4-5 (5) While I am still in this world, I am the light of the world.
\p (4) So now, while it is still day, we must use all the opportunities which
are given by {my/the} Father who sent Me. Because the time of darkness will
come, when no one is able to work.”

Instead I got this:
\v 4 -5 (5) While I am still in this world, I am the light of the world.
\p (
\v 4 ) So now, while it is still day, we must use all the opportunities which
are given by {my/the} Father who sent Me. Because the time of darkness will
come, when no one is able to work.”

OR this as input:
*Quoted from Ps. 82:6. According to what John wrote in Greek, Jesus only said
the first part of that verse, which says literally, “I (namely God) say,
‘You are gods.’” (The word “gods” is usually translated
“deities” in Indonesian.) All of

Gives this:
\p *Quoted from Ps.
\v 82 :6. According to what John wrote in Greek, Jesus only said the first
part of that verse, which says literally, “I (namely God) say, ‘You are
gods.’” (The word “gods” is usually translated “deities” in
Indonesian.) All of that verse is, “I say, ‘You are deities,

The 82 was not at the beginning of the line and should have been ignored.
There is another cross reference later in the verse, and it so happens that
the number there was ignored. So it seems the "discover markup" routine is not
consistent. In another footnote with a lot of numbers, the routine made a hash
of everything.

BUT I am so happy to discover that there still is a way to import raw text. I
have been able to use Check USFM to import 10 chapters in a relatively short
time.

Is there something about this at the web site? If so, I didn't find it. I
would recommend adding a note under the Import heading. That's where I would
look for help if I was a new user.
