Thank you Teus, that did the trick. Now I will re-install Bibledit.
I have yet another question, once I am familiar with the program and ready to have our consultant access it, how do I allow access. I am running Ubuntu 12.10, on which it is installed, in a virtual machine that is running on my computer in my home behind a router. What route does he need to take to gain access?
Thanks for all of your help,

Hi Tim,
The thing resists till the very end, but you're going to win!
It looks like the minus (-) sign causes problems this time.
Usually this is resolved by putting the name of the database
between back-ticks.
<backtick.jpg>
drop database `bibledit-web`;
After this hopefully the rest is going to go flying...
Teus.

Hi Teus,
This is what I typed and the error I received:
mysql> drop database bibledit-web;
ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-web' at line 1
