In general, I prefer full quoting because it seems safer especially as the code evolves. I don't see any advantage of less quoting, but maybe that's just the GNU way. I've added some comments to AT_QUELL_VALGRIND to explain why its quoting is unusual.Here's what I have so far, not yet committed.
Very nice, thanks. I wonder if some parts can be taken out of AT_CHECKs and executed "naked", in order to trim down the size of the testsuite and to make it faster too.
