i logged in/out several times, still couldn't find/start it. also
tried "killall -HUP gnome-panel" several times, that didn't work either.
"make install" installed it as /usr/local/bin/gnome/bubblemon-gnome2,
and if i run that from bash in an rxvt window, this happens:
$ /usr/local/bin/bubblemon-gnome2
$ echo $?
1
$
ie: it runs and immediately exits with a return code of 1.
