cannot find library

Hi,

I have been trying to install python-ldap. The first step in the
installation is to type ./configure. The point is that
the program complains that it can not find a library.I know for sure that
the library exists and that it is in the default path.
Could the problem be related to any change in autoconfigure?

Any help will be welcomed!!!!
