GNU people,

   I am installing autoconf-2.52 on a RedHat 6.2 system.
"./configure && make" worked but "make check" reported
errors. Tests 42, 122, and 124 failed on the first time
through, although when the tests were re-run in verbose
mode and logged, 122 and 124 seemed to succeed.

 42: compile.at:277 FAILED near `compile.at:277'
...

Testing actypes macros.

119: actypes.at:6 ok
120: actypes.at:7 ok
121: actypes.at:8 ok
122: actypes.at:9 FAILED near `actypes.at:9'
123: actypes.at:10 ok
124: actypes.at:13 FAILED near `actypes.at:13'
125: actypes.at:14 ok
126: actypes.at:15 ok
127: actypes.at:16 ok
128: actypes.at:17 ok

The system is a more-or-less stock RedHat 6.2 system
on an Athlon machine. Errata up-to-date as of 11/25/01.

I have attached the testsuite.log file. I have also
attached the output of "rpm -qa" in case that helps.

It seems that an f77 test failed. f77 on this system
is Absoft's Pro Fortran compiler version 4.4.

Hope you find this information helpful,
