System is Solaris 9 4/03rev and it's a fresh 6.2.2 download as of about 10
minutes ago.

Configure doesn't finish, either, because it crashes out a little while
later with:

root-mode pid file will go in /var/run

Will use /bin/procmail as fallback MDA.
