There were 5 testsuite failures in the autoconf-2.58 build on Compaq
OSF/1 5.1:

This is a system where gcc-2.95.x and gcc-3.x have almost never built
successfully.  I got an installation to succeed just a very few times;
the current one is

        g77 --version
        GNU Fortran (GCC) 3.3 20030407 (prerelease)
