[GNU Autoconf 2.59] testsuite: 41 failed

Sorry, I cannot be of much help in tracking down the problem.  I set it
as one of my tasks this Christmas to find out how autoconf, automake,
and libtool work.  Downloading and installing was part of getting
started!

My Linux may well be unusual as I don't use distributions.
