I was finally able to get a working gdb 6.1. I noticed
the following ... dalsndv5:/data/viewstore/garr/gdb61-bin <garr-16> ../gdb-6.1/configure creating cache ./config.cache checking host system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.9 checking target system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.9 checking build system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.9 and, since this is a solaris 2.8 system, I tried telling the configure script so. The makefile was very unhappy that I was changing this when I did make and, despite the suggestions on how to remedie this, I eventually had to erase the entire contents of the directory into which I was building gdb. But after that, things worked pretty well. There were various compiler warnings and I again got ... configure: WARNING: sys/ptem.h: present but cannot be compiled configure: WARNING: sys/ptem.h: check for missing prerequisite headers? configure: WARNING: sys/ptem.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------ ## configure: WARNING: ## Report this to address@hidden. ## configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------ ## but in the end I had a working gdb, or at least it seems so. Just wanted to let you know what the real errors were. Garr Lystad |
