Hello,
I'd like to ask someone more knowledgable to improve two things
in the autoconf manual.
1) dirname
The autoconf manual says that not all hosts have working dirname.
Could you please name some OS version?
Are these systems still in use?
Otherwise, the manual and m4sh.m4 comment should say that AS_DIRNAME
is still here, but it should not be necessary any more.
2) Can I use something like ${0%/*} or ${pathname%%*/} ?
These variable expansions are required by POSIX.
I was told that Solaris /bin/sh doesn't honor them.
Shouldn't the manual contain a section about them?
Have a nice day,
Stepan
