        Hi, this message appeared when I was compiling readline-5.0
        for Sun Solaris 9 with gnu C compiler from sunfreeware.

        This was the configure line that I was using:

        ./configure --prefix=/export/pre-local/`basename $PWD`
--exec-prefix=/export/pre-local/`basename $PWD`/arch
