Installing gcc on Mac OS X

Hi,

I installed Xcode 3.1.1 Developer Tool on my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X version
10.6.8).

While running a program, I got the error:

./configure: This script requires a shell more modern than all
./configure: the shells that I found on your system.
./configure: Please tell address@hidden and address@hidden
./configure: about your system, including any error possibly output
./configure: before this message. Then install a modern shell, or
./configure: manually run the script under such a shell if you do
./configure: have one.

I am not sure what is causing this. Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Randa
