Thanks for the report. Note that the latest version is 2.69; I'm not
going out of my way to fix an old manual, if the current manual doesn't
have the same issue.

But you are right that even autoconf.git:doc/autoconf.texi still has
this wording:

Would you like to try your hand at writing the actual patch? If not,
then I can write a patch along these lines in another day or two.
