Thank you for the nice clear bug report with included patch, and we apologize
for the delay getting back to you.
Your patch is short enough that we don't need a copyright assignment, so I
will test it and, assuming no problems, merge it for the upcoming 2.70
release.
(The patch does use up all of your quota for changes without a copyright
assignment, so if you think you might like to submit further improvements to
Autoconf, it would be a good idea to get started on the paperwork now. See
