Follow-up Comment #1, sr #110351 (project autoconf):
It is unclear to me why and when this happens, and therefore whether it's just
cosmetic, a symptom of a bug in this version of bash, or a symptom of a bug in
the FIFO job dispatcher. If the latter, it is also unclear to me how serious
the bug is.
My inclination is to apply a big-hammer fix: rip out the FIFO job dispatcher
altogether, and do parallel tests the way Automake does them, i.e. with `make
-j`. I wouldn't normally suggest this during a beta, but an unreliable test
suite makes it hard to address all the *other* bugs...
