Dear Sir:

Please ignore this e-mail. The "gcc/7.3.0" compiler is broken on Scout, and
the broken compiler was resulting in all these errors.

Thank you.

Dear Sir:

I tested Autoconf 2.70 on an IBM Power 9 system named "Scout" at ARL DSRC. The
"uname" information is:

scout03> uname -a
Linux scout03 4.18.0-193.32.1.el8_2.dt2.ppc64le #1 SMP Sat Nov 14 05:45:38 EST
2020 ppc64le ppc64le ppc64le GNU/Linux

The modules used for the compilation were:

scout03> module list
Currently Loaded Modulefiles:
 1) BCT 2) compiler/gcc/7.3.0

scout03> gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 7.3.0

The attached file "listing" contains the "configure", "make", and "make check"
steps.

The results of the "make check" step were:

ERROR: 585 tests were run,
64 failed (4 expected failures).
12 tests were skipped.

Please send `tests/testsuite.log' and all information you think might help:

You may investigate any problem if you feel able to do so, in which
case the test suite provides a good starting point. Its output may
be found below `tests/testsuite.dir'.

make[1]: *** [Makefile:1776: check-am] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/p/work1/oppe/autoconf-2.70'
make: *** [Makefile:1778: check] Error 2

Do you have any suggestions for reducing the number of errors?

Thank you.
