This particular failure is due to your compiler leaving behind lots of
*.dSYM directories.  Autoconf 2.62 and newer should have measures put in
place to remove them I think.  I'm not sure if that is sufficient to fix
this Automake test failure though.  Can you try to install 2.62, or even
better 2.63, and use that with Automake 1.10.1, and report back?
