Is it intentional that automake now requires threads.pm to build?
Attempts to bootstrap on a Solaris 10 box are failing with:

This is perl, v5.8.4 built for sun4-solaris-64int
(with 28 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail)

Do you want 'perl -V' output?  This is relatively recent (built Feb 2006),
so it seems like we should still cater to it.
