Configuration Information [Automatically generated, do not change]:
Machine: i686
OS: cygwin
Compiler: gcc
Compilation CFLAGS: -DPROGRAM='bash.exe' -DCONF_HOSTTYPE='i686'
-DCONF_OSTYPE='cygwin' -DCONF_MACHTYPE='i686-pc-cygwin'
-DCONF_VENDOR='pc' -DSHELL -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../src
-I../src/include -I../src/lib -I/usr/include -g -O2
uname output: Windows_NT D10PC313 1.1.7(0.31/3/2) 2000-12-25 12:39 i686
unknown
Machine Type: i686-pc-cygwin

Bash Version: 2.04
Patch Level: 5
Release Status: release

Description:
I first ran configure, then make. The build process fails
when calling mkversion.sh because of incorrect parameters
(options -d, -p) to mkversion.sh. The problem seems to
be that the files _distribution and _patchlevel are missing.

Repeat-By:
Download bash2.04-5. Unpack and try to build on a PC
        with Cygwin environment:
          ./configure
          make

Fix:
I could work around the problem by uncommenting the rule
for $(srcdir)/configure in Makefile.in, as suggested
by the comment in that makefile.
