I can't find anything in the bash configure and associated support
that adds this option. Is it possibly added by the large file support?
Try looking at the output of:
getconf LFS_CFLAGS
getconf LFS64_CFLAGS
getconf LFS_LDFLAGS
getconf LFS64_LDFLAGS
