The bash version 2.03.0(2)-release (i686-pc-cygwin) and ls version ls (GNU
fileutils) 3.16 on Windows NT 4.0 returns if it is used in this way:
FILES = $(ls)
different results if it is called more than one time in short time
intervals:
A shell script produces this output

/cygdrive/t/OeKB/xstp_classes/tce_gui/1.1.5/axioma/gui/exceptions:
XBeanException.class XBeanException.java XException.class XEx
ception.java vssver.scc
